What I most want for you to know

for you to know-blog

I want to tell you that it’s okay for you to be confident
without it meaning that you’re a bitch, conceited
or full of yourself.

For you to be proud of yourself
and not hold back on celebrating the amazing things you’ve achieved.
It doesn’t mean you’ve got a big head if you speak your wins loudly into the wind.

I want you to know that your voice is beautiful and needed in this world
and that if YOU love it, that’s all that matters.

I want you to know it’s okay to know you’re beautiful.
Don’t hide your light simply because you don’t fit someone’s standards of beauty, weight or size.  Knowing your beauty doesn’t make you narcissistic, it’s just true.
You are beautiful.

It’s okay for you to beam your love, quirks & unique sense of humor out into the world.
You’re not weird, you’re not awkward when you snort as you chuckle.
You’re you & I love you.

I want you to know that your natural hair color, eye color, skin color, body shape etc…
are literally the Universe’s desire willed into existence.
There is nothing wrong & there’s nothing you need to change.

I want you to know that just because he or she didn’t love you,
that doesn’t mean you’re not worthy, that you’re not enough
or that you need to change anything about you.
There is someone out there who will truly SEE you
and be the one lucky enough to win your heart.

I want you to know there’s nothing wrong with loving the things you love.
You don’t have to be concerned with “good taste”.
If it brings you joy, go for it.

I want you to know that your worth & value as a human being
is not determined by how many followers you have or how many celebrity parties
you are invited to.  That’s all an illusion.
And those people obsessed with that stuff go to bed wondering why all the followers,
money & celebrity contacts in the world don’t make them feel better.

You are whole.
In a world full of opinions, subjective “standards” about what & who you should
and shouldn’t be–you will get bombarded with popularity contests.  You will get
frameworks and opinions heaped upon you.

Don’t let it crush your heart.
Don’t let it relegate the voice of your soul
Into a tiny damp corner to be forgotten.

One day all of those people you thought wouldn’t love you if you became
who you were always called to be, will all be dead and you will be left
with your life in your hands.  Will you be happy with what’s left
after all of those people are gone?

In the end all you have is you. Your life.  Your desires.  The secrets you loosed
from your lips and allowed the wind to carry to the world’s ears.

So treat yourself well.
Love yourself like you’ve never loved anyone.
Remember: you are literally God’s desire come to life.
