For the next 60 days, I’m doing something radical that goes against all the rules, and which several people told me they weren’t so sure I should do. Today, I’m inviting you to participate in this experiment if you want to follow along and see what happens. First, some backstory…

I recently hired a new Marketing Manager, and we did a deep data dive into the last 16 years of the business, especially into our email list. We found some shocking data about my audience and email list.

I have a very large email list—tens of thousands of people—accumulated after 16 years in business. Yet we noticed:

Only a small percentage actually open and engage with our emails regularly.

SO many people on our email list have been benefiting every week from our high-value content for YEARS yet have never invested in anything, even though we’ve had many offers and price points over the last 16 years.

That tells me that a big percentage of our email list has been happy to read our high-value content for many years but never actually intended to take decisive action to buy anything we offer.

My next question was, “Why are they here? At the end of the day, this is a business, and we are here to sell.” It turns out a few of those people are family members and close friends, so that made sense. But the data revealed even more interesting “tea.”

Out of the people who were regularly opening and engaging with our content:

A few of those people are colleagues who “just want to see what I’m doing.”

Some were nightmare clients we fired, yet still obsessively read our emails, even though we’ve removed them multiple times.

Some were online bullies whom we kept blocking yet kept signing up for our email list with new fake emails or names.

Definitely not a good thing to have that type of energy hanging out on your list, right?

And the rest?

While we had a nice percentage of people who invested in our services or offers and are still engaged, we also had a large percentage of people who are just… lurking with no intention of buying.

This just didn’t feel right.

Have you ever been in a relationship where you are pouring out your heart and soul to the person, giving and giving…and the person doesn’t return that effort? That’s what this felt like.

PART 1: NO ONE-SIDED RELATIONSHIPS

If you’ve been here for a while and have invested in our offers, you’ll also know that one of the biggest values we teach is non-draining relationships. I even built a framework around this that our clients call a “game-changer” (we call it “The CEO Ecosystem.”)

The essence of the CEO Ecosystem is this: As you scale your business’ visibility and profitability, you must be meticulously mindful of what your inner circles look like and ensure nothing in them is unconsciously draining your energy.

After working with some extremely successful celebrity CEOs over the last 16 years, our data has shown that lopsided or one-sided relationships are a silent “killer” of a CEO’s capacity and a business’s long-term sustainability.

The data from our email list showed me we had many lop-sided relationships. No bueno.

PART 2: NO PERPETUAL FENCE-SITTERS

The data deep-dive also showed me that our ideal clients are quick to decide and act, even if it means facing some fears. I love that about them—it’s super inspiring. It keeps me going as a coach and CEO; it gives me energy, which has helped us sustain a successful business for 16 years.

Experience has also shown me when I work with folks who hesitate, lag, or constantly hold back on making fast, decisive investment decisions in their success, my energy dips, and my creativity and confidence take a hit. As CEO, keeping that spark alive is key, which I always nudge my clients to remember. So, I need to walk that talk on a deeper level, too.

We have built our high-integrity reputation as a business and attracted some amazing people into our offers (and no, that doesn’t mean you have to be some millionaire CEO to be here!) because our clients get above-industry-standard results.

And that’s because we usually select fast, decisive action-takers to work with us. We aren’t into twisting anyone’s arm or performing acrobatics to prove ourselves. Our ideal clients can see from miles away the levels of excellence we bring to the table and know pretty instantly they want to work with us in some capacity.

So here’s the radical thing we are doing:

If you’ve been here for years and years, are just here to “see what I’m doing”, or “love what I write” but have no intention of buying anything from us, referring people to us, etc…, I’m asking you, with a lot of love and gratitude for your time here, to please unsubscribe from this list.

My social media is a great place where you can still keep up with what we do and has lots of free content. Find me on Instagram, Facebook or Tiktok.

Now, if you’re still here, here’s what happens next: we will offer you opportunities to invest in our work every day for the next 60 days. We’re calling it “60 Days Of Selling.”

Some of these offers are things you may have seen before, but you may have sat on the fence about (you’ll now have a chance to jump on the fence and join the fast action-takers club, which in and of itself will TRANSFORM you.)

Some of these offers will be brand new, never seen before.

Some will be hugely popular programs that we tabled and are only back for a very select group of people.

These offers are for you whether you’re under $100,000 a year in revenue, in the multiple six-figures OR you’re already a super successful CEO of a 7, 8, or even 9-figure company. There’s something for everyone here!

Yes, for 60 days, we will email you daily with an offer. The price points start at $97. You will have an opportunity to buy something from us to indicate that you are part of the decisive action-takers we love to work with and want to foster more of in our community.

If you have not bought anything from us at the end of those 60 days, we will move you to a different list to which we will send content less frequently

If you fall into the “not buying anything” category (and you’re not a friend or family member), this is not a punishment or anything personal. I’m grateful to you for being here as long as you have.

But it’s a waste of your time to be here anyway because all our content is geared towards action-takers who are ready to invest in our work. Our time and energy are so short these post-pandemic days that I’d rather you subscribe somewhere your energy isn’t wasted.

2024 energy is all about evenly matched relationships.

It’s about culling our list down to a smaller community of people who are ready to take action and make EPIC opportunities happen in their businesses NOW.

It’s about creating an active, highly-honed, and selective list of badass buyers and action-takers who WANT what we have to offer and who want to be in a community with like-minded professionals.

That’s it. That’s the news.

We start tomorrow with our first offer..

See those of you who are still here after 60 days on the other side. I’m looking forward to working with you in whichever offer you partake in. And, as always, I’m sending all my love.

I was about to head out the door to an event last week when I made a radical decision. I had my makeup on, was fully dressed, and ready to go—I even took this picture as I was about to head out the door…

And then I realized the venue was a 45-minute drive for me– at night.

I thought about one of the things I always teach clients when they are recalibrating their businesses and careers to have more visibility without the hustle and the burnout: energy management. As our businesses grow, our time and energy become even more important than money.

In fact, it’s through preserving our time & energy that MORE money comes.

So, I have noticed in myself and my clients that it’s very easy to get wrapped up in all the opportunities and exciting events you are invited to.

But as I reflected on the fact that- I haven’t had many nights in lately to just chill on my couch, watch TV, and do my nails (I love doing my nails; it’s relaxing for me & feels like deep self-care).

I also had an 8-month-old project I kept putting off because of a lack of time and energy. The nagging reminder that it was overdue also drained my energy in tiny amounts daily.

I decided- instead of using 1.5 hours of my time driving in total and another 2 hours at an event where I may or may not make special business connections…I’d rather stay home, have a girls’ night, and complete that project that’s been on my mind for eight months.

And I did just that. The project I thought would take me hours to complete took me only 35 minutes. And I got to sit on my couch watching TV, drinking my Canada Dry Diet Cranberry Ginger Ale, doing my nails.

It was just what I needed and a wise use of my energy as a CEO. The replenishment and deep rest I felt the rest of the week from giving myself that evening to stay in and do “nothing productive” has given me delight and energy to send out thousands of dollars of proposals to people reaching out about working with us on the corporate side and for 1:1 coaching, have a cold intro call with a new corporate contact and teach our new free masterclass showing you how to scale your visibility & business without burnout (which we are getting RAVE reviews on from participants!)

Part of what I teach in that masterclass is how vital capacity is to your visibility & business growth. Managing our energy is one of the ways we can grow with the right amount of capacity, so we don’t burn out.

Want to hustle less and rest more, all while growing your visibility and scaling your business to new revenue heights? You won’t want to miss this Friday’s free Masterclass! Join us right here.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve received multiple alarmed messages from different sources telling me others are ripping off my IP on capacity – my ideas, my words, and even my whole vibe.

Back when I first started talking capacity (YEARS ago), nobody else was. It was just me, the lone voice, bringing something new to the coaching world.

And yeah, I’ve got the whole copyrighted framework to prove it.

Despite this, I’ve watched as my concepts got copied over the years, especially by white women, which sadly doesn’t surprise me anymore. It’s part of a bigger pattern I’ve noticed in business. This is what the shadow side of whiteness does- extracts, steals, and exploits the work & genius of others.

But here’s the real talk: imitators can’t match my energy or expertise.

While they’re just getting on the capacity bandwagon, I’ve been living and breathing this stuff for years.

They might fool some, but with my name plastered all over capacity content on the internet for years, the truth’s not hard to find.

And…

1) Their lack of originality is glaring. My inbox is full of messages calling out the copycats, which only shows they’re not the thought leaders they claim to be. It makes THEM look bad.

2) I’m always light years ahead in understanding capacity in leadership, the acknowledged go-to expert.

3) No one can replicate the depth of insight & experience I bring to this topic – it’s not just what I say, it’s how I say it. And how I EMBODY it.

***This is why visibility is crucial, especially for women of color. ***

We’re too often sidelined or overlooked, with our ideas co-opted by white women who more easily get visibility opportunities & therefore, already have large platforms, turning OUR innovations they steal & co-opt into their cash cows.

Not. happening. on. my. Watch.

So I’m doubling down on getting LOUDER & MORE VISIBLE about capacity– MY area of expertise and IP, ensuring no one forgets who owns this space.

And I’m ALWAYS here to lift other women and men who don’t fit into the “mainstream” and whitewashed picture of a CEO, to make sure their voices drown out the noise of those who take without giving credit. (Because you can invite a WOC to teach in your program instead of stealing from them.)

If you’re fed up with being invisible around YOUR unique brand of genius and want to claim the spotlight you effing deserve, join my free masterclass.

I’ll show you how to 10x your visibility in 2024 without burning out, focusing on balancing your capacity and visibility.

A few days ago, I shared the major capacity expansion cycle I’ve experienced the past few years. It was filled with wonderful moments and also some drama. I promised I’d be sharing it all over the next few weeks through the lens of the Six Capacities: Money, Visibility, Purpose, Embodiment, Structural & Boundary.

We’re starting with Money Capacity. Money Capacity is your ability to earn, save & invest more money, year after year. This capacity grows endlessly, no matter how much we’ve earned. So it follows I had Money Capacity expansions the last few years.

One of the biggest events to expand my money capacity from 2018-2020 was spreading out into renting a three bedroom home in one of the most high end real estate markets in the US by myself.

When your rent triples…

If you were here four years ago, you’ll remember I shared with you the experience of moving to Santa Barbara, California (semi-annually) after years of being a minimalist, nomadic and living out of only two suitcases. Even though my business was extremely successful and I could definitely rent my own place, I wanted to try communal living because I was new to the area, so I rented a large bedroom in a three bedroom luxury home overlooking the ocean.

I had stomach aches for weeks after I arrived, because of the massive expansion my nervous system underwent as it released old traumas about it being dangerous to “get what I want”. The first two years of communal living was amazing. I had two older housemates who were lovely, respectful and co-created a beautiful space in our large ocean/mountain view home.

Then one housemate left. Another one moved in to replace her. She ended up being a semi-stalker (a story I’ll tell in an upcoming post) and I kicked her out. At the time, instead of searching for replacements, my Soul said “it’s time for you to take over this entire house.” My ego said “ARE YOU CRAZYYY?????”

When I’d first moved here, I had chills all over my body as I drove up the driveway. It was an exact manifestation of my “dream home” I’d had in my mind for years. But part of me still didn’t feel worthy of saying ALL of this can be mine. I had to build my capacity to feel worthy of THAT level of abundance.

There’s a private, invite-only garden I take clients to when they come for a retreat in my home as a Money Capacity expansion exercise. It was owned by a famous Opera singer who devoted her life to building up 33 acres of land into lush, beautiful gardens. Every person I take to this garden is forever changed by it.

I’m always in awe at the capacity she had to RECEIVE such a large swath of beauty every day as she walked around her gardens, bathing nude in her hand built “moon pool” made of large, iridescent seashells. She never thought “this is too much for me”. She believed she deserved it. She reveled in it. She ENJOYED and EXPERIENCED it without reserve. And she shared its beauty abundantly with the world, even after her passing. Every time I need an “abundance boost” I go to this garden. I always make more money after visiting. Abundance begets abundance.

My Soul was asking me to go from being used to living in one small room, to spreading out across THREE bedrooms and five acres of land. BY MYSELF. And I had to buy furniture for a three bedroom house. And my rent TRIPLED. It was the most amount of rent I’d EVER paid.

It took 6 months of continuous, devoted Money Capacity work to clear old childhood money traumas that came up paying this new rent amount. At times I’d have a feeling of disbelief, wondering if I “deserved” this new life I had created through hard work. Using the Money Capacity framework, I devotedly worked on clearing the “I’m going to be punished for having so much goodness” and the “I can’t relax cause something’s going to take it away” thoughts.

As I teach my clients in Capacity Work, those thoughts are trauma-based. And you don’t want your trauma making life and business decisions, especially when it comes to expanding your money capacity. That’s why strategy alone isn’t the answer, you have to work on your CAPACITY to receive and gracefully handle new levels of money and abundance, like the famous Opera singer did.

During this time, I hosted watched clients transform coming to my home and this powerful land I lived on. I learned how to fully decorate a home with custom-made, high end furniture. I had so many moments with tea on my front porch, overlooking the sun setting over the ocean, saying to myself “wow I get to have allll of this! How wonderful!”

And you know what? Because of Money Capacity work, I never had trouble with that rent. In fact, I’m moving again soon and I’m looking at homes double the rent amount I pay now, which was so scary to me a few years ago. If you were to chart my business revenue from 2016 till now, it would look like a straight line up. That’s the power of expanding your Money Capacity.

In a few days, I’ll be back to talk about all the ways my Visibility Capacity was tested in the last two years. If you’ve been hiding parts of you from the world, you won’t want to miss it!

See you then!

If reading this makes you realize you need to work on your Money Capacity, I have programs where you can do that! In the Capacity Shift program, we work on all six capacities, including Money Capacity. That program starts at only $525 a month.

I was recently talking to a client who wanted to raise her prices. She knew the mechanics and strategy of doing so. She knew she wanted to raise her 1:1 coaching price to $24,000.

But she kept holding back. Why? Because she needed to expand her Money Capacity–her ability to hold, handle and receive that much money for her work.

The issue wasn’t that she wasn’t worth it. She’s amazing at what she does and deserves to be paid at LEAST that amount. Instead, she needed to a) EMBODY the version of her that charges $24,000. And b) she needed to believe deep in her bones that there are LOTS of people out there who want to pay her that much for her brilliance.

Until you fully address those two things, there’s no way you’re going to create the abundance you want. That’s why having the right strategy and “how to” to raise your prices is only 3% of the battle. Capacity is the other 97%.

One of my client’s big fears was “no one in my community will want to pay that amount of money to work with me”. This is by far one of the top fears I hear from y’all when you know you need to raise your prices/ask for that raise but aren’t doing it.

You’ll think “oh, my clients/the company I work for are used to paying x amount, so if I suddenly raise it, they’re going to be turned off and leave.” Or “I can’t even imagine who in my community has the money for that.” Or “Why would they pay me that much when they can hire someone else for less?”

You’re not asking the right questions. Here’s why:

I’m currently looking to fill a very important position on my team. And I’m not even CONSIDERING anyone who is charging less than $75-$100 an hour.

I know the value of this position and how important it is to the growth we want to achieve this and next year. I know the level of excellence and expertise that I am looking for in whoever fills this position. So, anyone who is charging less than $75 an hour either a) doesn’t have enough experience or b) isn’t valuing their work because they’re undercharging.

Why would I not hire someone who is undercharging? If part of their job is to add even more revenue to the business, yet they can’t even recognize the value of their own work and charge accordingly…how are they going to recognize the value of what we do and grow our revenue?

You can’t hire someone with compromised money capacity to grow your business’ money. See how that works? All of this goes through my mind as I look to fill this position.

You’re worried people will be turned off by the price you know your work is worth, but I’m telling you there are clients who see your prices and wouldn’t even CONSIDER you as their service provider because your prices are TOO LOW.

When you ask “who would pay that in my community?” Um, there are several people who would but who haven’t raised their hands because they don’t see you as “their person”. Why? Because they wouldn’t pay less than $25,000 for the kind of support they need. Same goes for you if you have a raise you want to negotiate, or you’re applying for a job.

People naturally tend to think someone who is charging more has more experience and is better at what they do. Now, that doesn’t mean just go put a high price tag on something when you can’t back it up. Lots of people do that. That’s a lack of integrity. So make sure you’re raising your prices with integrity.

But that can be problematic for you too! Because you might have money-dysmorphia and underestimate how valuable your work is. (This is why I work with people on their Money Capacity, cause a strategy cannot fix money-dysmorphia).

The kind of client who pays you $20,000-$100,000 for something is not the same kind of client as the one that pays you $97- $3,000 for something. They are two different target markets entirely.

I worked on EXACTLY what I just told you above with my client. She sent me this text last week.

That is her THIRD $24,000 client in a month. As of this email she’s in talks with a potential fourth $24,000. She’s also been invited to give a talk at an important event that will elevate her profile and put her on the map as one of the best of the best at what she does.

None of these people and opportunities are “new”. They were already there. But they didn’t step up to hire her UNTIL her prices went up and UNTIL she grew her Money Capacity to be able to receive, hold and HANDLE such opportunities and clients. NOW they see and feel her as qualified to take them to the next level.

So stop questioning yourself. Cause it’s not your strategy, it’s your capacity.

Ps: If you’re ready to build your Money Capacity, fill out the Capacity Discovery form right here. I’ve opened up five spots this month in the Capacity Shift group program where you can start to build your Money Capacity for less than $400 a month.

Two just got filled this week, so now we’re down to only three spots available.

Once I review your application, if I think I can help, we can hop on the phone and discuss the best fit for you.
