Breaking Point

Last year, I got on the phone with an extremely exasperated potential client. She had a business that was doing decently, a membership business model that had a good amount of people signed up… But as I opened up our call, she told me, “Lisa, I’m on the brink of tears, and I almost shut down my business twice in the last week. I’m exhausted, I’m always working so hard, I have a team, but I don’t feel that my workload had lessened even with a team in place, I have to micromanage everything they do, and even though I...

Your Own Tinder Swindler

Have you watched the new Netflix documentary, “The Tinder Swindler”? It’s all I see people talking about on social media this week. I watched it myself last week. It’s a true story about a man who meets women on the Tinder dating app and tricks them into thinking he’s the rich heir to a diamond family fortune, only to swindle them out of upwards of $200,000. You might hear this and give some side-eye, thinking, “I’d never fall for that!” And indeed, on social media, lots of people scoffed and couldn’t understand how someone could fall for that. But if...

Your Biggest Blindspot

One of the biggest “misconceptions” people have about capacity work™ (helping you expand your capacity for more wealth, visibility, and impact so you can keep growing without sacrificing your well-being as the CEO) is this: Gaining more capacity means “learning how to do more & more” or “learning how to deal with piling more things onto your plate.” As a result, I often get messages like this one: “I know I need to work on my capacity, but I’m already so overwhelmed. I need to get more capacity to even be able to set the time aside to sign up...

My Wish For You

At the beginning of 2021, I picked 3 words to guide me.  Soft Loved Wealth Soft because I’m a softie inside. Us Cancers are toughies with protective shells because the inside is all gooey.  We need the shell to make sure people who get all the way in to the gooey goodness are worthy. Because we’re SENSITIVE and love hard. But in 2021 I wanted to LEAD with my natural softness, less protected.  It brought another layer of self-acceptance especially in the area of being ok with letting people see more of my flaws.  It brought an even deeper understanding...

Why I Love Discomfort

I read the most incredible quote last week, and it summarized in a nutshell why we sometimes get stuck, feeling like nothing is working. "If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we are not really living.Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. It may mean a giving up of familiar but limiting patterns, safe but unrewarding work, values no longer believed in, relationships that have lost their meaning. As Dostoevsky put it, "Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” The real fear should be of the opposite course." Gail Sheehy I’ve worked...

Big Secret

Years ago a client hired me to help her with visibility struggles. She was a “best kept secret” - people in her industry respected her work and hired her to help them make millions with their launches.  But she was struggling to make anything past $150,000, even after being in business for 5 years.  How could someone so respected for creating million dollar launches be a “best kept secret”? Hidden visibility blind spots.  She was NOT a stranger to excellent marketing strategies and copywriters. But that wasn’t moving the needle in getting the epic visibility opportunities she wanted so she...

I’m in Oprah Magazine!

I have been holding this in for a week! I was traveling down to Panama recently when my friend Lynne texted me THIS picture, saying “I love seeing this in my O Magazine!”: I was amazed!  Y’all already know how in July, Oprah and Gayle came to my house to surprise me in person. So, we went on a whole journey together last month, where I did ten days of Instagram Lives telling you all about this experience, what I had to shift within my own capacity to be able to manifest and rock it and many of you participated...

Dirty secret

I have a cute little water fountain on the side of my house. I dutifully fill it with water every day to enjoy the bubbling sounds throughout my day as I work.  But sometimes, when it’s a particularly sunny day, I’ll walk outside, and it will be bone dry and empty just a few hours after I fill it. On foggier days the water seems to last forever! It’s a roller coaster, me and this water fountain. Aside from making you thirsty, does my fountain story sound a lot like your cash flow situation?  A lot of people call this...

Explain yourself

If Oprah (or the person you admire most) called you up today and said, “you’re live on my TV show, tell us what you do and how you help people!?” what would you do? Can you honestly say you’d confidently rattle off in a clear, succinct manner exactly what you do, why you’re a genius at it, exactly who can benefit from your work, and the exact results your target audience is looking for? Would you be able to walk me through your own patented proprietary process, live on the air all while maintaining your cool, feeling, and looking confident...

Seven-figure failure

If I had a dollar for every client who came to a call beating themselves up because “they’re not there yet”... I’d have A LOT of extra dollars. And you know what? I get it. I used to absolutely torture myself in my own business for “not being where I should be by now”.  Like you, I’m an extremely motivated individual and I do not shy away from taking the action necessary to get to where I want to go. I hustle when I need to hustle, rest when I need to rest, work extra hours when it’s required.  Make...
